Neutral Styles | Gray & Camel

The neutral combination I seemed to reach for most often this season was shades of gray with camel. Maybe it's because I'm so smitten with my $28 camel peacoat, and want to wear it every chance I can. But there's also something so warm and rich about the pairing.

Because of the light camel, this outfit would work beautifully with taupe or darker brown boots as well, but I opted to play off the gray sweater and pair it with black.

Style Tip: Layer a collared-shirt or turtleneck under your sweater for an extra kick of style. You know, that whole {Rule of Three} thing we've talked about.

Style Tip: This spray works well for keeping your rubber boots shiny, but word on the street is, so does Goo Gone!

So what do you think of this combo? You could easily add color and pattern with a plaid shirt or scarf, or even a bright bag. Would you keep it neutral, or add the pop of color?

  1. Love the gray! Gray seems like it should be depressing but I just love it-the softness of the color, the endless outfit pairings for all seasons. The scenery pictures you included today are so peaceful!

  2. Your son really has an eye for photography!

I love all our outfit posts. If I actually tried to dress nicely, I would have your same style, haha. Its so funny to me to see people wearing this type of boot fashionably, though. I live on a farm and boots like this are essential for walking around in the muck! lol

  6. I like the neutral look, but then I like your bright colorful outfits, too. Love the backdrop in the first photo. Kudos to your son for the creative photos. I just bought a camel jacket and paired it with dark brown but now I'm going to have to try the grey.
