{Trip Report} Ketchikan, Alaska

In the past few weeks we have been surrounded with some of the most beautiful landscape we've ever seen...from Alaska to Montana to Yellowstone National Park. It wasn't our intent to have so many trips so close together, but it's just the way things fell in to place. And I'm never one to turn down the opportunity to travel! (Follow the adventures on InstaGram and Facebook.)

Even though we had my sister's out-of-town bachelorette party and wedding already on the books, there was no way we could turn down Princess's offer to explore Alaska in the middle of it all. To say Alaska was majestic would be an understatement. The trip was actually so special, so surreal, that I'm still trying to process it, and form my thoughts and opinions before completely sharing the experience with you.

But I know you're anxious to see, so today I'm sharing our first port on the trip...Ketchikan, Alaska.

I've been asked repeatedly what my favorite stop was, or the coolest experience, but I honestly can't name a single one. Each and every landscape, excursion, meal, and town was just as stunning and perfect as the last.

Prepare for photo overload! #thatsmyboat #jenny #randomforrestgumpreference Not really, she's the Ruby Princess. And she was always the biggest and prettiest ship in port!

After a day at sea, it was fun to be on land exploring this quaint, colorful town.

After a few hours, we headed out on our excursion....exploring the Misty Fjord Wilderness by boat, and seaplane. #pinchme

Don't let Mr. SP's get-up confuse you...other than being windy on the top deck of the boat, the weather was really mild. We packed lots of light layers, and added them according to the temperature and activity each day.

The boat cruised through snow-capped mountains covered with glacier waterfalls. A fellow passenger had a mega-lens on his camera and captured these pics of the eagle and whale, and was nice enough to share them with me! (Hi, Rex!)

You may recall my history with flying sometimes...but all was well on this trip! The seaplane take-off and landing were actually smoother than regular planes, but I did feel the dips and turns a lot more!

We saw so much more of Ketchikan and Misty Fjord, but I was usually too busy staring open-mouthed to take many pictures! And these are all straight from my camera...Alaska really does look just like this! Who's ready to book their Princess cruise?!

I have a random question - what are the names of the fonts you used on your title picture on this post??? I've noticed that you've used the combo before, and I love how it looks! I'm hoping to try these fonts out on my save the date cards I'm trying to put together - if you could let me know the names, that would be great. :) Thanks so much!
