{Giveaway} Fresh Holiday Greenery

Every year we say we're going to get a live tree. Then we realize we'd have to keep it alive for 5 weeks, clean up needles every day, and hope it doesn't spark anyone's allergies. So I always end up pulling out the trusty artificial tree and declaring, 'Maybe next year.'

But I grew up with a live tree, and really love the smell, so we've agreed on a compromise....fresh wreaths, garlands and stems! Usually I bring in cuttings from the yard, and raid the discard bin at Home Depot's Christmas Tree tent (did you know they have piles of branches for FREE?!), but this year I had the opportunity to choose from the most gorgeous selection at The Wreath Depot.

Hi Sugarplum | Christmas Decor

I had a hard time choosing (who's surprised by that?!), but finally decided on the Pomegranates & Cinnamon Wreath, and we're currently using it as a centerpiece on our dining table. Having fresh greens arrive at your doorstep is like Christmas came early.

Hi Sugarplum | Christmas Decor

The wreath is so full, and beautifully made.

Hi Sugarplum | Christmas Decor

It makes a gorgeous centerpiece with a hurricane candle in the middle, or hung from a door.

I also got the Berkley Holiday Mantelpiece, which looks amazing on our piano.

It would also look great on a mantel, or as a table centerpiece. I feel like Oprah over here, with all this fresh greenery!

Hi Sugarplum | Christmas Decor

Can you smell the Christmas cheer in my house?! Let's get to the fun part for you guys...the giveaway!

The kind people at The Wreath Depot are giving one of you lucky ducks $75 shop credit to order anything you like. We'll end the giveaway this Thursday night so the winner can have fresh greens in their home in time to enjoy this season. Good luck, lovebugs!

  2. I, too, love real trees. I do not like the mess they make. I will stick with my artificial tree this year. Thanks for the info on the discard bin at Home Depot's Christmas tree tent and the giveaway!

  3. We're an artificial tree family. My mom is, like, deathly allergic to the real deal. Sad. But our artificial is a BEAUTY!!!

  4. I have always had an artificial tree, but think the Christmas traditions of selecting a tree from a tree farm are so sweet and fun! :)

  5. LOVE this giveaway! i am with you, i always had a real tree growing up and now we have an itty bitty artificial tree and i REALLY miss the smell of real trees! a pretty wreath would do the trick! xo jillian

  6. I'm a fake tree girl (pre-lit) all the way:) I just love being able to put it up right after thankgiving and keeping it up after Christmas for a week or two. I even buy the little ornaments that smell like a tree and we have the real tree smell--they work-haha!

  7. Love my artificial tree but miss the smell of real greens. These are gorgeous!!

    ReplyDelete
  8. I am sort of the opposite - I always say we are just going to do a fake one and then end up getting a real one instead.

    ReplyDelete
  9. definitely the realest looking fake tree is the way to go. thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  10. We get real trees because I was always afraid of fake ones melting in my Texas attic. Now that's we're in PA, we get real trees because we like to cut them ourselves (and we still don't have a good storage spot).

  11. love the look and smell of live but i can't deal with the dropping needles and watering, so i do artificial but i add real garland around the house.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Great idea! You can't beat that fresh evergreen scent;)

    ReplyDelete
  13. We get a real tree. I grew up with real and my husband grew up with fake. It is our most favorite night of the year.....we bundle up, get coffee, and wander around the farmers market until we find the perfect tree!

    ReplyDelete
  14. I've always had a fake tree. Putting it together with my dad is one of my favorite Christmas memories - man do I miss him. :'(

    ReplyDelete
  15. I've never had a real tree, ever. They do smell so wonderful when you walk into a house with one though. We had to get rid of our faux tree a few years back due to smoke damage and haven't replaced it yet ... been looking ... perhaps just a white tree with lights will be the replacement.

    ReplyDelete
  16. I prefer real, but allergies prohibit it. So have large faux tree, and a mine real potted tree for the scent.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I've had both and enjoy the real look and feel of a real tree, but enjoy the simplicity of getting out the artificial one. I'm looking forward to decorating this week!

  18. That centerpiece look absolutely gorgeous!

  19. I love real trees, we get one every year and our home smells amazing!

  20. We've always had live trees and I love them! Finding and cutting down that perfect tree is one of my favorite Christmas traditions.

  21. artificial, only cuz it's easier! As soon as my baby knows what's going on we will be getting live ones

    ReplyDelete
  22. I LOVE the Wreath Depot and give them as gifts to my in-laws each year.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I LOVE having a live tree! And some extra fresh greenery would be amazing!

  24. Love the wreath! Fresh greenery is such a fun treat!!

    ReplyDelete
  25. I love a real tree but I'm allergic to them. Thx for the giveaway!

    ReplyDelete
  26. I love a real tree but I'm afraid I'll kill them, so I stick to the fake ones!

    ReplyDelete
  27. live tree for sure but for the last several years..artificial tree :-( not much space in the current abode for a live tree but fresh wreaths...Love 'em!

    ReplyDelete
  28. No real tree for us ~ I don't have much of a "green" thumb! I have thought about adding some fresh greenery with a bough centerpiece or wreath.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I grew up withe fake trees (my mom is allergic) and we've had both real and fake since I got married. We've gone real since having kids, mainly because if they eat real tree I worry less than if they were to munch on plastic tree bits coated in weird stuff. I used to get a horrible rash on my arms and hands setting up our old fake one and was glad to see it go.

    ReplyDelete
  30. We've learned that central heating and live trees just don't mix, so it's faux for us every year!

    ReplyDelete
  31. both! i love the smell of a real tree but the convenience of an artificial.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I would love to win! There is nothing prettier than fresh Christmas greenery!

    ReplyDelete
  33. Love my real tree! We have one of each and the real are not as messy as you think.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Goodness these wreaths are gorgeous! I live with roommates and for the 7 years I've lived on my own I have always had a mini-tree (since the dorms in college!) but I somehow completely lost it in my last move. :( This year I'm making do with an ornament wreath but nothing beats the green stuff. This would be an awesome win.

    ReplyDelete
  35. these are so pretty! i love them and think about making them but never have the time - thanks for the give away!

    ReplyDelete
  36. So beautiful. Sadly I'm highly allergic to pine. :(

    ReplyDelete
  37. Pretty! Pretty! & soooooo festive!

    ReplyDelete
  38. I'm 100% a fake tree girl, but I LOVE that wreath and that swag. I need it!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Growing up we always had a real tree, but we have been doing an artificial for the past 3 years. I really want to go back to a real tree!

    ReplyDelete
  40. I'd love to win. Unfortunately, we also have a fake tree so I burn a lot of pine-scented candles around this time of year.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Love these wreaths! I might have to gift some to friends. They are so pretty.

    ReplyDelete
  42. We always have a real tree. My husband would not have it any other way!!! Plus I love it too. Love these gorgeous wreaths & garland and could find MANY places to use them in my home.

  43. Such beautiful greenery, thank you Cassie!

  49. Thanks for the giveaway! Did you make your table runner? It's so pretty!

    ReplyDelete
  50. Sadly my tree is fake...I hope to go back to live in a few years.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I say the same thing every year, too.... about getting a real tree. And then I remember how the last real tree I put up was crispier than burnt toast a week before Christmas, and I had to take it down and put up the artificial one. *sigh* I just can't seem to keep one alive no matter how much I water it.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Wonderful idea to put the wreath on the table as a centerpiece!

    ReplyDelete
  53. We are fresh tree people. We cut our tree down every year. I've contemplated an artifical tree, but love the tradition of going out and cutting one down. I'm considering picking up a large metal pail to put the tree in. Pretty, and it would hold more water.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Fresh tree all the way! My only advice is to keep it watered and never let it go dry.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I wish we could go fresh - love the smell it carries throughout the season, but this girl right here is super allergic and chances are - so are my babies!! :)

    ReplyDelete
  56. I love the smell of fresh trees but love the way you can decorate artificial trees.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Gotta gotta gotta have a live tree :) They can be a bit of a mess but I somehow control my OCD, I love the real thing that much! I've tried putting Sprite or sugar in the water- that's supposed to keep it fresh longer, but I honestly haven't noticed a difference. I'm going to read through all of the comments to see if someone has a miracle solution! Thanks for the giveaway, Cassie!!

  58. we have a fake...but my husband wants a real! :)

  59. We have always had a real tree. My husband wants a fake tree now. I don't like the needle cleans up but love the real deal.

  61. Love the smell of fresh greenery in the house! But alas, it is a fake tree for us

    ReplyDelete
  62. So pretty. We have one live tree, and one faux. I try to mix a bit of real greens in with the artificial to make them appear "real".

    ReplyDelete
  63. I feel ya about the tree...that's why we have a fake one but I light a fir scented candle and just tell guests not to look real close-or try to water it:)

    ReplyDelete
  64. I used to do a fake tree, until I felt guilty for not giving my 4 daughters the experience of picking the tree on the far corner of the tree lot, using those fun little saws to cut it down, and having their daddy lug it all the way back to the car! I can live with picking up needles daily, and hoping to remember to water it everyday, just to see my girls' faces!!

    ReplyDelete
  65. Live tree! :) can't not have that awesome scent!

    ReplyDelete
  66. We grew up with a real tree but we have an artificial now. I like the ease of it but I miss the smell.

    ReplyDelete
  67. We're artificial tree people here. However, I wish I could go pick and chop down a tree at a tree farm!

    ReplyDelete
  68. I grew up with a live tree too, but this makes our second year having a real tree as a grown up. We decided that the day after Christmas we are going shopping for an artificial tree. It is just too much work, and the branches don't hold the ornaments as well. That is the part that bugs me most of all.

    ReplyDelete
  69. I love the smell of a live tree, but some years I stick with my wonderfully fake and shiny vintage aluminum Christmas tree. I can't help with tips for keeping the tree alive all season though :)

    ReplyDelete
  70. We always buy a fresh tree. I just love the smell. My garland is artifical. I have made my table center piece from the trimmings of our tree and the rosemary bush in our garden. Between the two our house smells divine! We just give the tree fresh water everyday and it stays beautiful throught the entire Christmas season.

    ReplyDelete
  71. we have an artificial tree, it is one less thing for me to have to worry about during this busy time

    ReplyDelete
  72. I've done both but prefer the convenience of the artificial tree. I also use fresh branches and greenery to decorate.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Wow, they have so many beautiful products! Thanks for the opportunity to win! Merry Christmas to you and your family! :)

    ReplyDelete
  74. There is definitely an artificial tree at our house. Green things tremble with fear when they see me - I'm kinda like the grim reaper to them. Once they see my face, certain death follows. A real tree would likely suffer the same fate, turning brown weeks before the big day and probably causing at least a small house fire. I acknowledge my weakness and opt for a permanently green non-fire prone artificial guy. Besides, I DESPISE stringing lights and the lure of pre-lit was too much to resist. :)

  76. I do love a real tree, but it is alot of work watering it everyday. I love your idea of an artificial tree, with the fresh wreaths and garland. Think I will do that this year!

    ReplyDelete
  77. I have always had a real tree growing up, so I keep it that way. I love going and picking out my own tree. The secret to keeping it alive besides watering it, is drilling a hole in the trunk underneath before you put it in the tree stand. It will hold water a lot longer. Thank you for this giveaway. If I win, I won't have to beg my neighbors or Home Depot or Lowes for scraps to make all my extras.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Love the live tress but gave up on that several years ago when schedules would not allow. Besides, I do it all except the putting in place!! Still have to supplement with live garland for the great smell! Thanks for the chance to win! Merry Christmas!!

  79. I always grew up with a real one and would love to go back!

  81. Your home makes me want to switch from the red snd green combo I have now to pink...

    ReplyDelete
  82. There was a battle in our home this year about Christmas trees! I grew up with "real" and my husband always had an "imposter." Well, we just bought our first home and really wanted a real tree...after weeks of debate, I eventually lost and we have an imposter in our living room. Sigh. Ya win some, ya lose some...

    ReplyDelete
  83. We go fake, but I've been wanting some fresh greenery for the smell, too!

    ReplyDelete
  84. We have had an artificial tree every year since we got married, because my husband says that real trees are a big fire hazard. I'm sure that working as a firefighter for years, and responding to calls for fires at homes that started with the Christmas tree, has something to do with his thoughts about this. My family always cut down a Christmas tree every year, and I miss the experience and the smell of a real tree. I am glad that I don't have to deal with checking/watering the tree everyday, and the mess of pine needles on the floor though. :)

  85. This year we are having an artificial tree

  87. I would love to win something like this....we aren't able to get a Christmas tree because our condo is small and the only corners to put a tree in are the same corners that our heat/air conditioning vents are in...not safe! So we just decorate the mantel...and some of these gorgeous additions would really help create the Christmas mood in our home....which we need to do now that we have a little one!! Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  88. Thanks!
I'd love to win something like this to give to my Mom for her early December birthday! She'd love this!

    ReplyDelete
  89. Love the colors you chose to decorate for Christmas. We have a fake Christmas tree that I'm trying to vamp up with some fun color in there too. Thanks for your inspiration. I love your blog- you are so witty. Thanks for the chance to win.

  90. I've always used an artificial tree as my mother was very allergic when we were young. Never really learned how to take care of a real tree!

    ReplyDelete
  91. I am simultaneously inspired and feeling way behind on my holiday prep!

    ReplyDelete
  92. I'm a little behind this year. I can't wait for it to smell like Christmas!

    ReplyDelete
  93. We're artificial tree type of family :)

    ReplyDelete
  94. I love the centerpiece - looks so fresh!

    ReplyDelete
  95. I grew up with live trees but don't celebrate Christmas anymore so don't have a tree, live or otherwise anymore.
