Is it Me, or is it Hot in Here?! (& Win $100!)

I don't know if it's my 'mature' age, but I feel like I'm always asking the people in my office, the passengers in the car, and my family at home....'Is it me, or is it hot in here?!'
I don't think I've entered the hot-flash phase of life yet!!

In order to keep my not-hot-flashes at bay, we set our thermostat pretty low at home. Texas Summers can be pretty brutal, but the electric bills are even worse! So we're forced to turn the air conditioning up before we leave each day, and come home to a warm, stuffy house. Ick.

If only someone would invent a thermostat you could control from your phone or computer, so you could adjust the temperature before you get home. Wouldn't it be so cool if it were voice-activated, too, and you could just tell the thermostat that you wanted it warmer or cooler? Without even having to get off the couch!?

Well guess what? Someone did invent the smartest, coolest (#punny) thermostat ever...Honeywell Wi-Fi Smart Thermostat with Voice Control!

This new gadget is on its way to me, and we are geeking out with excitement. It looks really fancy with a customizable touch screen, but they swear it's super easy to install.
Fingers crossed!

I can't wait for cold Winter mornings when I wake up and tell it to warm the house...while I'm still snuggled under the covers! Or when we take vacations, we can use our phones to adjust the temperature to how we like it before we arrive home.
See, totally geeking out.
Wonder if I can tell it to make dinner?
Or walk the dog on rainy days for us?
Oh, or how about choose the winning lottery ticket!?

Want to win $100 Amazon gift card?! (Duh.)

  1. We could really use this in our home! We have a hard time regulating the temperature and this would help a lot.

  2. I would definitely use this to warm the house in the mornings before I get out of bed... on those brutally cold Wisconsin winter mornings!

    ReplyDelete
  3. I agree about the brutal Wisconsin winters, although we live in Iowa. It is so hard to get up when it is that cold here. I would use it to warm the house also.

    ReplyDelete
  4. I would definitely use it to set the temp before we get home...or turn the AC up when my husband freezes me out at night.

    ReplyDelete
  5. I would use it to set the temperature before I get out of bed too!

    ReplyDelete
  6. Definitely to heat the place up before I got out of bed. I'm always cold!

    ReplyDelete
  7. Since I'm in Texas, I think I would have it bring the temp down a little as my hubby and I are driving home from work, so it will be the perfect temp when we walk in the door! :)

    ReplyDelete
  8. I'd have that house cooled off BEFORE I stepped in from the hot, Houston commute!!!

    ReplyDelete
  9. to turn up the heat about 30 minutes before I get out of bed in the morning so it will be nice and toasty.

    ReplyDelete
  10. What a jewel! Also living in Texas, where the weather can change depending on the time of day, I would love to have this and tell it what to do!! Especially to turn on in the summer to cool the house down or warm it up before I got home in the winter! I REALLY hope I win! :)

    ReplyDelete
  11. I would use it to adjust temps when our running errands. It would be great to come home to a cool house after being in and out of the hot car.

    ReplyDelete
  12. I'd like it to have the house the perfect (cool) temp when we all get up in the morning. In an 'only if' kind of way, I'd like it to open and close all the blinds in the house for me so I didn't have to do that job every single morning and evening. #firstworldproblems.

    ReplyDelete
  13. I need this!! this time of year the weather is so random. This would be perfect for when I get too hot in the middle of the night to cool the room.

    ReplyDelete
  14. To warm up the house from the comfort of my bed on those cold mornings that are just around the corner!

    ReplyDelete
  15. We have a humidity problem... This would be so helpful to help us regulate that :)

    ReplyDelete
  16. Oh man I would LOVE to be able to get the air ready for my homecoming! I'm in Texas too, and I feel your pain girl. And while we're at it, I wouldn't mind if it took out my trash :)

    ReplyDelete
  17. The thermostat for the back of our house is located upstairs -- I hate running upstairs to change it!

    ReplyDelete
  18. Being able to control the thermostat from upstairs in bed would be amazing.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I'd love to have it control our oil heat furnace and air conditioner! How amazing would that be!

    ReplyDelete
  20. I would love this thing to get my 3 year old milk in the middle of the night when he asks :))

    ReplyDelete
  21. I would absolutely use this to warm up the house before I got out of bed!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Definitely warm up the house before getting out of bed in the cooler months!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Could it train 4 male species to hit the inside of the toilet bowl? If not, I would have it clean my yellow walls and floor surrounding the toilet! 😀

    ReplyDelete
  24. I just love that the air doesn't have to be on all day-my cats sit out in the sun room, basking in the heat-while I worry they are too hot and waste money!

    ReplyDelete
  25. I would tell it not to listen to my husband's voice, only mine! He always wants the house colder than I do!

    ReplyDelete
  26. We desperately need one of these in our home! I would use it to program the perfect temperature at different times of the day and keep the humidity down since we live in the coast.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I'd love if it would fold my laundry & put it away! But since it probably can't do that, I'd love to have the house cool & ready for us after sports, being on vacation, or just when I'm too lazy to get up & change it myself!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Definitely clean the whole house...I wish!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Can it keep my floors clean? No? Oh well, I'd settle for just being able to use it to control the temperature. Ours is so complicated I still don't understand it after 2 years.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I would definitely have it swifter everyday! Maybe wash the dog too!

    ReplyDelete
  31. I would tell it to take the dog out!!

    ReplyDelete
  32. The idea of warming up my house while I'm still cozy in bed sounds seriously amazing!

    ReplyDelete
  33. I would have it monitor my temperature to help me keep my heating and cooling cost down.

    ReplyDelete
  34. It would keep our home cozy but not hot and keep the morning chill away!

    ReplyDelete
  35. I would have to use it to keep the house cooler at night in the winter, but yet warm up when it's shower time. Especially since we have two thermostats and two zones.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I'd have it warm up cold mornings so it's easier to get out of bed!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Warm up the house before I even get out of bed, sounds like a dream come true!

    ReplyDelete
  38. It would keep me warm when it is cold, and cold when it is way to warm!

    ReplyDelete
  39. It would warm me up when my husband has set the temp too low. :)

    ReplyDelete
  40. Shut the front door! Voice control! I just emailed the hubby and said we need this baby, STAT ;)
I'd love to tell it to clean the floors and toilets. No? Well, then I guess I'd tell it to warm up right before I get in the shower. I'm always freezing when I get in and out.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I'd have it set so we could change the temps while we were out of the house for sure. We have ours on a schedule now but it would be great to adjust as needed by phone or laptop. Thanks for the contest!
    hugz,
    Suzanne

  42. I would have it set at about 65 degrees at 10:00 p.m. and at about 6:00 a.m. set it for 68 degrees and 72 degrees at noon. Wisconsin winters are way too cold for me! Will it start my coffee pot for me too?:)

    ReplyDelete
  43. To adjust the temp when I'm away. I am always forgetting to change the thermostat when I leave in the mornings.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I would really like my thermostat to pick up the dog hair blowing around the house. In addition to reading my mind and knowing when the temp needs to be cooler or warmer.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I never touch our thermostat ever! Maybe I could actually use it!!

    ReplyDelete
  46. I never touch our thermostat ever! Maybe I could actually use it!!

    ReplyDelete
  47. I never touch our thermostat ever! Maybe I could actually use it!!

    ReplyDelete
  48. I wish it could cook dinner for my family :)

    ReplyDelete
  49. That would be used for all the days I FORGET to turn the ac up before I leave for work!

    ReplyDelete
  50. I'd haive it adjust the temperature as we return from vacation!

    ReplyDelete
  51. If it could clean house as well as adjust the temp in our home that would be awesome. But I would love this especially on those cold mornings when you don't want to get out of bed.

    ReplyDelete
  52. I would have it mop the kitchen floor. I hate mopping the floor.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I would love for it to heat up or cool down my home after being away on a trip. There is nothing better than coming home to a properly temperate house.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Oh I would love to win this! We are already planning to install one when we finish the restoration of our house. Our house is 111 years old, and the last thermostat was put in many decades ago! I would love to set it to either cool off or warm up late in the afternoon before we get home from work.

  55. Clean!!! Oh and control the temperature, obviously!

    ReplyDelete
  56. I want it to clean my house and cook dinner. But if it warmed up the house before I woke up in the morning then that would sure make it easier to roll out of bed and get ready for the rush off to the kids' schools.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Help me save money on heating/cooling bills!! Turn it down or up when I'm at work etc.

    ReplyDelete
  58. I would ask it to turn up the heat on those cold winter mornings and to clean the kitchen after dinner.

    ReplyDelete
  59. I would use it as a backup for my memory - our utility bills always skyrocket when my husband and I leave for work without turning the thermostat up/down.

    ReplyDelete
  60. turn the heat on first thing in the am to warm it up when cold!!

    ReplyDelete
  61. That thermostat would maintain optimum comfort at my house!

    ReplyDelete
  62. Cool down on a winter night and warm up when I wake up!

    ReplyDelete
  63. Can it be my butler? And maybe personal chef, maid and personal assistant? You know what...I would settle for it keeping me comfortable, conserving energy and saving money! I would LOVE this!!

    ReplyDelete
  64. This would be perfect to cool the house off just before we get back from vacation in the summer!

    ReplyDelete
  65. I would love it to turn down/up the thermostat after I've left home.. I always forget and would love to save money!

    ReplyDelete
  66. walking the dog on a rainy day would be ideal!! But I think I would be pretty happy to have a temperature change without having to get out of bed or off of the couch :-)

    ReplyDelete
  67. Oh I would love this, I live in Chicago it can be 50 when we leave in the morning and 80 when we get home in the evening. I would love this...

    ReplyDelete
  68. I'd like it to cook my dinner and then wash the dishes! :)

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  71. In my fantasy world I would have it cook all meals, but in reality I would love to warm up the house from my bed when it's freezing outside:)

    ReplyDelete
  72. My command would be, "Fold and put away the laundry."

    ReplyDelete
  73. My command would be, "Fold and put away the laundry."

    ReplyDelete
  74. My husband and I have talked about getting a programmable thermostat. This sounds even more amazing. I'd tell it to adjust the temp before we all came home for the day.

    ReplyDelete
  75. I would tell it "Perfect temp for JUST me please". Seems I'm always cold setting the temperature that is comfortable for the household.

    ReplyDelete
  76. I'd have it cool the bedroom at night and then warm it up before my feet touched the floor.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Would love to be able to update from the airport after summer vacation to come home to a nice COOL house!!

    ReplyDelete
  78. I would love to be able to more easily program our thermostat to have the house warm up just before we get up on our cold winter mornings....and to turn down when we leave for the day, etc. More importantly, this thermostat would be a techi-toy for my husband to actually figure out and allow us to utilize. This is awesome! (couldn't find you on InstaGram)

    ReplyDelete
  79. I'd love to have this to control from the far side of my house....instead of running around to the different thermostats in my home!

    ReplyDelete
  80. I would ask it to keep it nice n cool in the house so i would be chilled out from being cool n chilled....NICE PRODUCT....TY

    ReplyDelete
  81. I'd have it cool the bedroom at night :)

    ReplyDelete
  82. This would be a most convenient gadget to regulate the air during our hot Vegas summers that seems to be never-ending! I believe this to be especially convenient to me as I am very short and as always, when the thermometer was installed in the wall it was made for a man's size and I can not see the top to gauge the temperature. So I am constantly fighting with the temperatures being too cold or too hot. A voice controlled thermometer would be the icing in the cake! Thanks for the opportunity to win, Cassie!

    ReplyDelete
  83. I have the thermostat scheduled to be pretty cold during our sleep hours... but if I don't go to bed before it kicks in, I freeze. I would love to be able to tell it to turn back up until I 'm ready to go to bed! It's an individual night kind of thing!

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  87. I would use this baby to adjust the heat on days we are gone all day and then to get the house ready for us as we return - we was JUST talking about replacing our OLD thermostat

    ReplyDelete
  88. I would use my phone to control it all the time!!!

    ReplyDelete
  89. I would ALWAYS make sure it's set at a comfortable temperature for Ferg when we're not home! And for sure tell it to warm up the house on the weekends while still snuggling in bed with her!

    ReplyDelete
  90. I'd love to be able to control it when we're away. I hate leaving and then wondering "did I turn down the thermostat before we left?"

    ReplyDelete
  91. Does it fold laundry?? That would be amazing!

    ReplyDelete

  98. Our AC guy was just telling us how amazing these are. I would tell mine to warm up before I get out of bed or when I get out of the shower.

    ReplyDelete
  99. Warm up the house before I got out of bed for sure. it's damp and cold all winter in Seattle!!!

    ReplyDelete
  100. Definitely, definitely would use to warm up the house in the morning! Nothing worse than getting out of bed and hopping into the shower when you are already cold!

    ReplyDelete
  101. I live in Michigan, and waking up for work in the winter is TERRIBLE! So hard to step out from the warm covers, sprint across the cold floor and throw on as many layers as you can get your hands out.
It would be nice if it was warming up before we got up so that we could skip the "waddling marshmallow" step of the morning routine.

    ReplyDelete
  102. I would definitely use it to warm up the house before we get home from work--it's awful getting out of a nicely heated car and into a freezing house!

    ReplyDelete
  103. I wish it could cook dinner and clean the entire house

  110. I'd have it watch my 14 month old son while I take a nap!

    ReplyDelete
  111. Just like everyone else, I'd use it to warm up before I got out of bed, or cool off the house before I got home. It would be great!!
