{Marry, Make-Out, Muzzle} Our Fifth House (& We're Back!)

Hey, hey, hey! Mr. Sugarplum and I are back from our Canadian adventure...happy and exhausted! It's surreal to go from ocean views and snowy mountain tops, to fluorescent lighting and humidity. From couples solitude to sibling rivalry. From no worries to expectant bosses. But such is the shock-factor of returning to real life.

I can't wait to sort through the pictures and share it all with you, but first I have to weed through laundry and inboxes, snuggle on my babies, and reacquaint myself with my job. So enjoy the final installments of this {Marry, Make Out & Muzzle} series (from two of my favorite bloggers!), and I'll be back soon!

Carmel is a gal not afraid of color or taking chances, so you know I'm a serious fan of her blog, Our Fifth House. She's currently making over her daughter's room, and I'm literally hanging on every post update! She's also responsible for making me a slave to my CVS card!

Hello Hi Sugarplum readers, I'm Carmel from Our Fifth House! I'm so thrilled Cassie invited me to play this naughty little game!  I had way too much fun putting this guest post together!
First of all, let me just say I am happily married (for almost 12 years now) to the man of my dreams. I'm a Southern California girl who fell for the cowboy boot wearin' Kentucky boy with the make you weak in the knees blue eyes and a southern accent that sounds like honey.

Okay, now that we got that out of the way, let the game begin!  ;)

One of my favorite television shows just so happens to be set in Kentucky.  I'm a big-old-huge fan of JUSTIFIED!

Love. that. show.  It may have a little something to do with this guy.

Oh my!  Timothy Olyphant plays a character named Raylan Givens. I guess I have a thing for Kentucky boys because I'd marry me some Raylan Givens! Southern accent speakin' cowboy hat wearin' men are the hotness  - the end.  Ummm......Big & Rich said it - or rather sang it right - save a horse; ride a cowboy.  I know what you're thinking - oh no she didn't.  Uh -huh, yes......oh yes I did!  I blame Cassie  - she made me play this game.  ;)

Make Out

Hmmmmmm.......right off the top of my head........
Don't get me wrong, I'm totally Team Edward.  But every Thursday night I have a standing date with the Salvatore brothers (in particular - Damon), and my hub is such a big fan of Elena that he doesn't mind.

Vincent Kartheiser might be a great guy in real life, but the character he plays on Mad Men, Pete Campbell, literally makes my skin crawl,

He's on my nerves every Sunday night at 10 p.m. like clockwork.  ;)

Okay, so obviously I'm a little obsessed with my television shows. Who's your favorite television hottie? Thanks again Cassie for including me in this fun little game!

{Marry, Make-Out, Muzzle} Designer Bags & Dirty Diapers

Natalie at Designer Bags and Dirty Diapers is one seriously cool girl. I love a girl who's not afraid to eat (she posts amazing recipes), but she's real in how she keeps her (enviable) figure. Not to mention, she has wicked fashion style and always links us to the goodies. We'd be friend in real life, I know. Even if I am a little intimidated by her tall, long-leggedness!

I am so excited to be playing this fun game on Cassie's blog today. Love her and her amazeballs blog and I hope she is living it up on vacay right now!

I have loved Ryan Reynolds for a long time now. He is funny which makes him that much more attractive and have you seen his body? He is the perfect man in my book. If only he felt the same way about me.

Call me a cougar if you want, but I love me some Zac Efron. Would love to get my hands on him:)

This is a close tie between Kim Kardashian and Lindsay Lohan. They both are train wrecks and horrible role models for our kids! I wish they would stop featuring them on all the news shows. Although dirty little secret I do sometimes watch the Kardashians, they annoy me but the show sucks me in everytime.

Thanks for having me Cassie and have a fun cocktail for me while you are vacationing!

{Marry, Make-Out, Muzzle} Pawley's Island Posh

I'll admit I can be kind of shallow. For instance, I knew I'd love Julia as soon as I saw her blog header! It's like a nametag that reads, "Hi! I'm fun and stylish, and I don't take life too seriously." And that's exactly what Pawleys Island Posh is! Julia has fabulous projects like these Dining Room chairs, and gives great fashion advice. I can't wait to put this recent moodboard to work!

Hey lovelies!
I'm Julia from Pawleys Island Posh and I'm here today to play a little game and share a little secret.

When Cassie first asked me to write this post I honestly had no idea where to start.

There are so many celebrities I'd love to let buy me a glass of wine
(Jude Law, you hear that?)

And just as many I'd rather throw that glass right in their face
(Ashton Kutcher for starters)

But I thought since I'm married and my last name is Ryan, I'd stick with three Ryans I'd like to Marry, Make-out, and Muzzle!

I'll be honest the first two might be a bit interchangeable!

So, tell us.

Who are your three?

{Marry, Make-Out, Muzzle} Russet Street Reno

Russet Street Reno was one of the very first blogs I read. I just loved Sara's style and wit, and she and her hubby are doing an amazing job renovating their home. And this is hard-core reno, not just paint and drapes. Check out her Kitchen, Art Room and Dressing Room. Yeah, I said Dressing Room. Closets are for chumps.

Cassie sent a call out to some bloggers asking if they would like to participate in a fun little round of one of my favorite games - rating men!  I couldn't resist.  As far as who I would choose to Marry, Make Out or Muzzle, that was pretty easy for me....

Marry - Totally, hands-down, Jason Bateman.  He is so cute, seems like a romantic, his personality is awesome and he's been married in real life for over a decade, so he must be good at it!  Plus he's an actor and probably has lots of money!!

Make Out - I really couldn't decide between the two Ryans.  Yes, I'm aware my choices are not unique, but it would be stupid to pick anyone other than Gosling and Reynolds.  They are equally delicious in their own ways and I would love to get either one in a closet for 7 minutes!  Or more, I can't lie....

Muzzle - Adam Sandler.  Ugh, I hate all of his movies after Big Daddy, and I really hate that movie execs keep trying to sell him as a hot leading man.  A valid love interest for Kate Beckinsale?  Jennifer Aniston?  Salma Hayak?  Leslie Mann?  Are you freakin kidding me?  He is unattractive and decidedly not funny.  Muzzle, please.

Thanks for the opportunity, Cassie!

{Marry, Make-Out, Muzzle} Fresh & Fancy

Amy is a fellow Dallas blogger I recently discovered, and have loved getting to know her through her blog, Fresh & Fancy. She's a gorgeous newlywed, buying a home and starting a new business! Whew, I'm tired just typing that sentence! She has great style and I can't wait to follow along with her journey of decorating their first home.

Hello Sugarplum peeps!  I'm Amy from Fresh & Fancy, and I am so excited to be here for the day!  Cassie was so sweet to ask me to play along in her series, "Marry, Make Out, & Muzzle" while she's away enjoying some R&R with her hubby!  I thought it would be fun to add a little twist to the series and let YOU decide! make it even more fun, this is a MOVIE EDITION...which character would you choose?!?  No need for an introduction...I'm certain you know exactly who these men are!

{1}, {2}

Now, it's your turn to play along...out of these 4 dudes...who would you choose to Marry, Make Out, or Muzzle???
Have fun & Muzzle Tov :)

{Marry, Make-Out, Muzzle} All Things Bright & Beautiful

I discovered All Things Bright & Beautiful after Aubrey continued to leave me the very funniest comments. I just had to know this girl who was so clever, and was thrilled to find her blog is the exact same! She writes with so much personality that it's a joy to start each day with her, and I look forward to every comment she ever leaves for me!

Oooh, Eeeeemmm, Geeeeee.

I'm feeling a little star-struck being here on Cassie's illustrious blog, I mean, she's pretty much the rockstar of the DIY/design blog world, am I right???

(Um, oh, it's Aubrey from All Things Bright and Beautiful, BTW, in case you were wondering who the gaga groupie was (c: )

And regardless of that, she is an absolute sweetie pie, love her to pieces! So I'm going to try to do her proud and not eff up her blog today, mmm-kay?

Soooooo...this was pretty much the most fun guest post *ever*...except for when my hubby walked in and wondered why I was pouring over all these pictures of oily beauhunks...a little awkward (c;

But if I had my say on who to Marry, Make-out, and Muzzle...

I'd definitely marry funny man Joel McHale. Hot and Funny. Double threat kind of guy!
Seriously, I think I watch Community just for him.I know I'm not going to be alone on this one, lemme hear the swoons, ladies!!!!
I'd totally make out with David Beckham...I found a pretty tasteful shot of him because *heaven knows* there are plenty of scandalous ones!

And this might come as a surprise (I can already hear the boo's and hisses!), but who I would muzzle would def be Liam Hemsworth right now.

*WAIT!!!* Before you stone me, hear me out! It's not him, it's me...

I mean, how can he be with **Miley**??? Ick. And I have to say that after reading the books, I was team Peeta all the way (that was before I saw who was playing him in the movie, not as impressive, but *meh*), so there you have it. Muzzle. (c:

Thanks for letting me play today, Cassie girl! Hurry back so you can save your poor blog from all the crazies taking it over (c:

Growing Older. Can I Do This Gracefully?

Hi friends! I hope you're enjoying the guest posts! We're having a Canadian good time, but I'm popping in today to talk about every girl's least favorite subject... aging.

Last month I sent my friend Chassity an email wishing her a happy 30th birthday. Not knowing if she was struggling with the milestone or not, I added an encouraging, "30 to 35 are great years!" Her response totally cracked me up. "Why?! What happens at 36?!"

I'm not saying life goes downhill and we lose our beauty after those years, but they were really good years for me. I finally felt comfortable in my body, had gained confidence in myself as a woman, and wasn't showing any signs of aging.

Don't misunderstand, I'm not saying my life went to pot the day I turned 36. Life keeps getting better, but that doesn't mean I want to watch it march across my face!

It starts with "laugh lines" around the eyes and mouth. Who's laughing at those?! Not me! I'm crossing my fingers I get my mom's beautiful genes.

Then it's the frown lines between your brows, even when you aren't frowning.

You really notice the difference when your face is plastered against the flawless skin of your kids!

I'm sure you think I'm shallow and vain. And maybe I am, but I'm staring at a big birthday this year. One that I'll admit I'm struggling with a bit. The woman looking back at me in the mirror is not the girl I remember being. I'm trying to remind myself that the lines on my face are proof of a life spent laughing and smiling.

I think women of all ages are beautiful, and I hope I'm able to live a long, full life, with all its joys and sorrows reflected on my face. But that doesn't mean I won't take care of myself and my skin and try to look the best I can! So when the people at Darphin offered to let me try their anti-aging products, I jumped at the chance! You know we do things budget-style around here, so I'm usually a drugstore girl when it comes to beauty products. But after my first use, I realized there is a difference in "the good stuff."

The Aromatic Cleansing Balm smells amazing and, according to my son, looks like caramel. It turns into a milky emulsion when mixed with water, and leaves my skin feeling completely clean without any tightness.

Living in the South, and spending a lot of time outdoors, I have pretty dry skin. Which only magnifies the lines and creases, so I'm learning the importance of a good moisturizer. The Predermine Densifying Anti-Wrinkle Cream seems to plump out my skin instantly, without leaving a greasy feel. The smell is a little granny 'mature' for my taste, but only the tiniest bit is required and it glides like silk across your face.

Of the three, the one I'm most impressed with is the Stimulskin Plus Eye Contour Cream. After just two weeks of using it (like the Predermine cream, only the tiniest bit is needed and it goes on super smooth), the crinkles on the edges of my eyes are softer and the bags underneath are less pronounced.

My Darphin products have already taken up permanent residence by my sink, and I look forward to the nightly routine with them. I'll still hit up the drugstore for many of my beauty products, but Darphin will be part of my collection now, too.

I know I can't turn back the clock or stop time, but if products are available that help slow it down, I'm game! How are you dealing with the changing face in the mirror? What does "aging gracefully" mean to you? Let me know in the comments and you could win a Darphin Gift Basket (valued at a minimum of $100!)

Plus, Darphin has a special offer (one of their best!) just for readers of this post:

{Marry, Make-Out, Muzzle} Crazy Wonderful

Crazy Wonderful is a new-to-me blog, and I'm smitten. I love bloggers who don't take themselves too seriously, and are doing a bang-up job of making over their own home (and taking us along for the ride). So I fell fast and hard for Shelley! And our bloggie friendship is obviously meant to be, as we have the same Dining Room Chandelier! Mine isn't hung yet TWSS, but check hers out.

Hello guys!  I'm Shelley from Crazy Wonderful, and I'm seriously on cloud 9 that Cassie asked me to guest post on her insanely fabulous blog!  Eeee!!! And, how fun is this guest post series she's doing?! A little eye candy in the form of hotness never hurts.

I seriously had a hard time narrowing down a list, but here it goes. And don't hold me to it. I'm a woman and I have the right to change my celebrity crush at the drop of a hat... or new movie ;)

MARRY - Sam Worthington

So... I'm picking Sam Worthington based only on characters he's played. I know, lameo. But, I have no idea what type of guy he is in real life. He definitely seems like a man's man. Of the movies I've seen him in, his characters are strong - so I know he could protect and take care of me. Very important ladies! And, his characters have a soft side - so he'd be perfectly compassionate and insanely romantic. Lets face it, he wouldn't be bad to wake up next to either :D

MAKEOUT - Bradley Cooper

Yes Ma'am!!! I mean come on. Do I really need to explain why??? Smokin, smokin, smokin, hilarious, and freakin smokin. I think I've got a thing for dark hair and blue eyes. My husband has both :) If I HAD to make out with a celebrity I'm pretty sure I could stomach Bradley Cooper. Yep... I think I could handle that.

Something I just noticed about this post. Both of my crushes have facial hair which I find kinda funny because I'm normally not a fan. Hmmm... maybe I shouldn't give my husband a hard time about shaving. Looks like I just learned something new about myself today!

MUZZLE - Russell Brand

Uggghhhh!!! I'm actually a little upset his mug is in a post so close to Sam Worthington and Bradly Cooper. I know a lot of people find Russell Brand hilarious, but I just can't stand him. The sound of his voice (and I'm a girl who can appreciate an accent) is like nails on a chalkboard. And the sight of him makes me throw up in my mouth a little bit. So, if I could muzzle a celebrity and not have to ever hear from them again, he'd be my pick. Fo sho.

Thank you so much Cassie for letting me come over and hang out!  This was SUCH a fun post to put together ;)

{Marry, Make-Out, Muzzle} Freckles Chick

If ever there was a blog stalker, it was me upon discovering Freckles Chick. I think she invented sarcasm, and I hang on every word she writes. Her blog is only made better because she has gorgeous taste (hello perfect nursery) and the cutest baby ever. FC makes my Marry, Make-Out list...just sayin'.

Hello Hi Sugarplum readers!
Freckles Chick here (not my real name).

(Major photo cropping happened here.)

I'm a devoted stalker admirer of Cassie's style, DIY prowess & humor so I'm positively thrilled to take part in her Marry, Make Out & Muzzle guest post series! How fun to live vicariously through this post, seeing as how my wild mingling-with-celebs days are behind me now thanks to the birth of you-know-who. ::::side-eyeing my daughter Quinn::::

So let's get to it, shall we?

I guess I have a thing for the Brits. One's the King of Abs & the other's the (future) King of England. And they're buddies. They're both charming, easy on the eyes, & seem to genuinely care about family. It's ridiculous but I melt when I see snapshots of these guys enjoying time with their wives and (in regards to Becks) little ones, so that's why I didn't list them under Make Out. According to Posh, her hubby isn't afraid to cry either. Abs + sensitivity = marry me please. As for Wills, well, I've always had a soft spot for a guy who has his own kingdom. Actually, I'd marry Kate Middleton too. Talk about girl crush. Coolest commoner-turned-duchess ever.

So, did any blogger not pick Ryan Gosling? And if you didn't, are you even alive? You know, I honestly didn't care for Ryan that much in The Notebook but my lust for him has hit new heights recently. I can't explain it; he just owns it. He's everywhere these days: movies, magazines, all over Pinterest. Do you think he has a Pin It button? Hey Ry-Ry, you can pin me anytime.

I found the first season hilarious, the second season entertaining, then....not so much.  They're all train wrecks & I can't stand any of them but I still keep watching.  Why?!  I am non-prudish/ extremely liberal/can find the humor in anything, but even I cringe at these crazies.  And as if one Snooki wasn't enough, now she's breeding. Yikes.  I keep envisioning them years from now, all in their 70s: "Grandma JWow, what did you used to do for fun?" "Grandpa Situation, why did you punch your head thru that nursing home wall?"

This was probably the most fun I've ever had Google imaging hot celebs after putting Quinn to bed doing a guest post.

Cassie, thanks so very much for having me & thanks to you all for reading!!
