I was surprised by all the encouragement I received on the pink inspiration last week, but I guess you guys are used to me going bold with my color choices. Our weekend may have had a detour, but I still managed to get the pink drapes up in the Breakfast Room! When we arrived home, I wasted no time in reminding my Sugarplum of his promise to help me hang them.
I've got touches of dark pink throughout the kitchen, but added gray stripes of grosgrain ribbon to further connect them to the room. That and because I can't let things be and always insist on zhooshing. I didn't even bother with the cheater route of hem tape...I just hot glued those babies on! (My favorite ribbon source is Ribbon Retreat. They have every color under the sun, and will send samples for mere pennies. But for the love of Pete, do not sign up for their
How yummy do they look with our new rug?! I'll answer for you....super yummy! This photo shows the closest match to their real color. And even though the hue is intense, they are still light and sheer.

I may be on the fence about the pink, but I love the gray stripes paired with the gray and blue ikat rug! I can't wait to see the room when all the chairs are painted. Who wants to come paint them
Let's retrace our progress, shall we? First was the new wall color....
Then we better defined the space with a rug....
And now added color and showcased the large window with bright drapes hung high and wide (I also sprayed the old curtain rod Espresso Brown to balance with the cabinets)...
Just so you see what a difference drapes can make when hung high, here's the same view with shorter ones (and a barely visible rod) TWSS.
And to let you in on why I'm even thinking pink, here's the view of the Breakfast Room from the Dining Room....with a bad mock-up of the future pink walls. My intention is to visually join the two rooms. You dig? Yay or nay?
Add drapes, hang them high and wide to really showcase the window
* Finish painting the chairs
* Do something to the Fig basket so it's not so matchy with the bar chairs
* Consider amping up the drum shade
