But that's the great thing about having a blog...motivation to create new spaces! My changes are subtle, but do give the impression of Fall:
I packed away the coral and our Sanibel sand dollars, and filled the bowl with textural balls from Ikea.
The 'silver' tray is actually from the Dollar Store! (I know, right?!?!?!) And the artichoke dish contains acorns from our yard (They spent a few nights in the freezer first, to kill any creatures they may be housing. Trust me, you want to do that!)
Next up is my pretty little French side table:
Replaced the bowl of coral with pinecones I picked up in Banff (I always seem to bring home a little nature from our trips), and added a small kaleidoscope (fun for looking at the Christmas tree later) in place of the
You've seen the mantel in all it's Fall glory, and here it is with the Summer version:
Coral and glass vases stored away, and you can see the shore bird peeking out from atop the bookcases now.
And since my activity of choice while at home is to move objects from one place to another, the Maine Sea Scape from the Summer mantel is now living in the master bedroom:
(Yes, I hate that lamp and naked windows. I'm forcing myself to work one room at a time!)
And some of you emailed me about the Lowes Quatrefoil mirror...here is it on the mantel, where I had originally intended:
I think I'd like it better if I were to gold-leaf it, but the dark espresso frame makes it look like it's swimming in a giant sea of wall. I think I prefer it better in the little nook leading to the master bedroom:
So that's just about the extent of my Fall decor, although I'm working on my Thanksgiving table and will show you tomorrow. How about your home...are you doing much for Fall, or just waiting for Christmas?
