The Halloween Invasion Continues!!??

Happy Tuesday....I didn't get to the Weekend Re-Cap yesterday because of the 100 Posts Giveaway! (Have you entered?!) As always, it was a busy one in the Sugarplum House:

1. Yet another FC Dallas game...I think we're officially fans. They are tons of fun...fireworks at every goal don't suck either!
2. I somehow got suckered into buying cotton candy. I think it's 'Not-Going-to-the-State-Fair-Guilt.'
3. This is what happens when you take the family to the grocery store with you. (I've been on a Def Leppard kick lately, they are singing 'Love Bites' for me.)
4. Didn't make it to an official pumpkin patch...but this giant ($40!!??) pumpkin at the grocery made for a cute pic.

And my sweet boy had his first 'judged' Piano Festival. This is right before he went in alone....doesn't your heart break for the obvious nerves he's feeling?! He did great....I think the relief triggered the Def Leppard performance in the grocery. Normally he's much too cool to goof-off in public.

Halloween also invaded the inside of our house over the weekend (I thought we were stopping with the front porch?!) These spiders are removable decals from the Martha Stewart line at Michaels. Quite a few come in a single package...so they are on the mirror by the front door:

On the starburst mirror in the Dining Room and the Kid's Bathroom:

I packed the shells away until next Summer and filled the hurricanes with candy corn:

I made a little runner out of frayed orange burlap and added some pinecones from the $1 aisle at Target...subtle season change for the Dining Room:

Babygirl's craft pumpkin from school has her own throne on a cake pedestal, and a glass vase holds small plastic pumpkins (taken off burned out lights). I love all things pumpkin flavored, but I can not recommend these Pumpkin Pie flavored Hershey Kisses:

I can, however, tell you to drop these in your cart if you're lucky enough to find them! De-Lish!

Don't be scared, they are a good source of 7 vitamins and minerals. Says so on the box!

There was also a small amount of progress made on Babygirl's new room...more on that this week. How's your house looking....spooky or the same as a month ago?

  1. Do you think Strawberry Shortcake's hair stinks or is it just me? The girls I watch know I can't stand the way she smells so they torment me with her.

    Love the spider decals!

  2. For the record, strawberry shortcake's hair really does stink. Looks like such a fun weekend and I love the fall touches. The decals are darling. And I am super relieved to hear that poptarts have 7 vitamins and minerals. Off to the store!

  3. Jenna...too funny! My daughter insists on shoving SS's hair in my face all the time to smell it. So I'm not sure if it's the synthetic part or the 'strawberry' smell...but either way, I don't love it. But Sloan's fickle, SS will bite the dust soon. She's already been stripped naked. ;)

  4. Thanks for stopping by my blog, loving looking through yours as well! And had to comment when I saw these pumpkin pie poptarts-hope my grocery store carries these! I'm a sucker for anything pumpkin.

What a coincidence with the last name Sloan, I wonder if there's any relation?

  5. Looks like you all had a great weekend! Love the picture before the recital. Cute decorating ideas...using the candy corn in the hurricanes would be the best way to keep me from eating it all! Will have to look for the pop tarts...yummy!!

  6. Your family looks like so much fun and I did gulp at that pic of your little guy. I bet mama was sooo proud!! On a decor note, I love your starburst mirror and the mirror in the entryway. Where is the entryway one from. I'd like to find one like that for the wall that separates the kitchen and living room.
